After our first summer weekend at home, I can finally say that I am feeling refreshed and accomplished. Our laundry is caught back up, I [finally!] bought groceries, and I got some much needed yard work done! We also managed to attend an anniversary party, birthday party, have a sleepover, and hit the pool twice over the weekend! It’s crazy how calm and relaxed I feel with all the activity we have had. Sometimes, you just need to have some family time and been in your own space for a few days.
I’ve been over my closet lately. I feel like I have the same, old clothes and they aren’t inspiring me anymore. I’ve managed to clean out my closet a few times over the last few months but if I clean much more out, I won’t have anything to wear! Instead of heading out on a shopping spree, I thought I would be a little more methodical about my shopping and I’ve found some great inspiration for new outfits. Since I am in athleisure when I am not in office clothes [anyone else?!?!?!], I am focusing more on building my work looks for this fall. After all, it is approximately 100 degrees with full humidity in Oklahoma these days!
The Power Outfit
I love how this outfit screams #girlboss without being over-the-top. While the top and the purse are AH-MAZING, I’m especially in love with these pumps. This is also a great outfit to go from office to dinner, which is perfect for any girl-on-the-go.
The Transition Outfit
Oklahoma summers are H-O-T and they tend to last well into October. From the color to the cut, this is the perfect dress to transition from summer into fall and beyond!
The Feminine Outfit
After all these years, the glorious pencil skirt still stands. I love that Christine Andrew, paired this pencil skirt with a simple blouse, which really shows the versatility of the pencil skirt to be paired with anything!
The Casual Outfit
Fridays are deemed “casual” in most offices. Since I work at a university, our “Casual Friday” means a University t-shirt and jeans. While I sometimes take advantage of this, I tend to be a rebel and wear what I want with jeans. I am a sucker for the classic white button-up with dark blue jeans. It always looks clean, crisp, and professional.
